huzza! I hereby publicly declare mine own existence which satisfies my narcissistic need to assure, with great certainty, my unsureness regarding my own continual existence.

Fuck that i'm just bored and want to give some love to my xanga because it has been on my bookmark list glaring at me with cute puppy eyes ever since January 2008. All the while I have been neglecting it in my endless pursuit of lolcat pictures.

I'd write something reflective piece but that would take more brain power than I care to allocate for blogging at the moment.

THE OLD NEW WORDS FOR 2007, 2008, and we suspect into 2009 as well

1. BLAMESTORMING : Sitting around in a group, discussing why a deadline
was missed or a project failed, and who was responsible.

2. SEAGULL MANAGER : A manager, who flies in, makes a lot of noise,
craps on everything, and then leaves.

3. ASSMOSIS : The process by which some people seem to absorb success
and advancement by kissing up to the boss rather than working hard.

4. SALMON DAY : The experience of spending an entire day swimming
upstream only to get screwed and die in the end.

5. CUBE FARM : An office filled with cubicles

6. PRAIRIE DOGGING : When someone yells or drops something loudly in a
cube farm, and people’s heads pop up over the walls to see what’s going
on.

7. MOUSE POTATO : The on-line, wired generation’s answer to the couch
potato.

8. SITCOMs : Single Income, Two Children, Oppressive Mortgage. What
Yuppies get into when they have children and one of them stops working
to stay home with the kids.

9. STRESS PUPPY : A person who seems to thrive on being stressed out and
whiny.

10. SWIPEOUT : An ATM or credit card that has been rendered useless
because magnetic strip is worn away from extensive use.

11. XEROX SUBSIDY : Euphemism for swiping free photocopies from one’s
workplace.

12. IRRITAINMENT : Entertainment and media spectacles that are Annoying
but you find yourself unable to stop watching them. The J-Lo and Ben
wedding (or not) was a prime example - Michael Jackson, another…

13. PERCUSSIVE MAINTENANCE : The fine art of whacking the crap out of an
electronic device to get it to work again.

14. ADMINISPHERE : The rarefied organizational layers beginning just
above the rank and file. Decisions that fall from the adminisphere are
often profoundly inappropriate or irrelevant to the problems they were
designed to solve.

15. 404 : Someone who’s clueless. >From the World Wide Web error Message
“404 Not Found,” meaning that the requested site could not be located.

16. GENERICA : Features of the American landscape that are exactly the
same no matter where one is, such as fast food joints, strip malls, and
subdivisions.

17. OHNOSECOND : That minuscule fraction of time in which you realize
that you’ve just made a BIG mistake. (Like after hitting send on an
e-mail by mistake)

18. WOOFS : Well-Off Older Folks.

19. CROP DUSTING : Surreptitiously passing gas while passing through a
Cube Farm.

The Body

As an indirect result of the Gov classes im taking, the below issues are right now whoring space in my mind. Events like this make me regret not being at columbia, it would have been really cool to be there and hear the man talk.

Thoughts:

- Bollinger should have just stfu. The only good thing he MIGHT have accomplished from his barrage of one sided statements is less pissed-off people who don't want Ahmadinejad to talk. I for one would join the crowd here in waving the big "HELLO? FREEDOM OF SPEECH?!" sign here. There is absolutely no reason to oppose Ahmadinejad from going to Columbia U to talk. Bollinger's heavy doses of in-your-face-while-you-cant-talk-back does precisely what saying "U SUX!!" does, it makes him look unprofessional, undignified, and (for lack of better words) a newb. As a prestigious university's president, his job in public is to run the university, not give personal insights. That job is left to professors. I'm all for controversy in the classroom and varying opinions that stir student minds, but his position at that point was not that of a lowly professor (as he perceived), he was representing Columbia University on national TV, not to mention teh internetz.

- On top of screwing up his image, he gave Ahmadinejad the moral high ground. Bollinger set himself up to look retarted when Mr. "There are no gays in Iran!" tells him off that at least in cultured societies, you don't slander your guest with name calling (petty tyrant ha-ha) when YOU were the one to invite them.

On a totally unrelated note:

- Article on American Censorship is right. "DUNT LITSEN TO DEM CAPITAL DOGZ!!" is bad propaganda. It is painfully obvious and makes you tune out your brain on that channel. The ol' red communism propaganda isnt really that effective at all, because everyone knows they do it.

- American propaganda on the other hand is excellent. Take into consideration for a moment that USA is the leading country in study of psychology (yeah i know, i dont have sources here but im pretty sure of it), it just fits logically that they are also best at delivering and manipulating thought. Poison is only effective if people actually drink it down. Having stinky black sludge sitting at the bottom of someone's wine glass isn't going to work. You want to deliver a odorless, colorless, tasteless solution and have someone swallow that unknowingly with maybe a piece of chicken.

- By constantly throwing "democracy, freedom of speech, good" and other such words around, they've effectively seared into the minds of American news viewers that those things go together. Isn't it strange that the word "Liberty" is never seen anymore? In fact the statue of liberty is rarely even mentioned today, in its place are repeated photographs of the smoking 9/11 chimneys. Liberty is no longer linked to good, because it goes something like Liberty -> liberation army -> revolution -> war -> Bad >=(. So they chuck that word and stick in democracy/freedom and throw in some happee happies. Its also horrible how they keep showing twin towers with man in turban and big beard, and then they show it some more because news channels in USA are on permanent repeat. Maybe its on repeat for an additional reason, and not just because they have nothing more important to show.

Yarg its weird how i carry all these ideas of topics of interest to diddle about and yet open the blogspace and the mind becomes as blank as the background im trying to fill....

Then, with a slight fall of her surprized eyebrows, and a minute rebounding of her head, her face morphed into a scowl. The moment stopped being magical. The Red Sea came crashing down and doused Moses, a random mediteranian fish wriggled its last flop and died in his left trouser leg. Suddenly God wasn't smiling down on him anymore, and he was the one who needed saving.
